Course Details

Have you completed a Mountain Leader training course and are now looking to do the assessment? Or perhaps you’re a current mountain leader who has been inactive for a while and wants to brush up their skills? Either way, our ML Refresher is for you.

Join us and you’ll get to supplement your training and revisit core skills under the expert tutelage of an MCI-qualified instructor. You’ll also have the chance to evaluate your readiness for assessment, and identify any key areas that require further consolidation, based on a personalised and achievable action plan.

This course is a great way to get ready for your assessment or a return to leadership, giving you the chance to feel prepared, confident and ready to turn a potentially nerve-racking experience into an enjoyable one.

During the course we will look at:

• Navigation

• Micro-navigation

• Ropework

• Moving over steep ground

• Group management

• Environmental hazards, including river crossings

• Environmental knowledge

• Responsibilities of a leader

• Preparation for assessment, including a personalised action plan.
